Thank you for your voice, and for the guidance I need to use mine in turn

Well done Jerry, and the most hopeful piece of work I've seen in a while. I note that in your analysis of the post-Gaetz 119th Congress you eliminated 100 members in each party and, while that might not be a bad idea if we could pick and choose them, it does contravene the actual math which you returned to in the next section. All that said, I'm reposting this and sharing it on FB for what that's worth. Are you on Bluesky yet? Hope still springs, even as winter approaches.

As ever, Thank You Dave! Hope is the elixir that fuels the work.

I've corrected the on-line version, restoring 200 members to their rightful place. I always read these posts at least a dozen times before publishing--revising and making corrections. But still dumb mistakes slip through. I so appreciate your both noticing and telling me about it.

Not a myth. De facto.

I don't understand, Daniel. Can you explain what you mean? Thanks.

Some "ultra vires" acts have the force of law. As in de facto segregation.

Banish the myth of futility to highlight the paths of resistance!!! Thank you for the thoughtful article. I am resisting falling into the rut of hopelessness and by reading about the goal of your organization I find hope.

Thank you, Cindy. That's exactly what we're about.

Just one small note, there is no organization. Feathers of Hope is an online meeting place, a network, a resource. We have no structure, by-laws or dues. We're just individuals raising our voices together in a concentrated effort to be heard.

Welcome aboard!

Like many others, I was losing hope in the face of what seems to be a new American Plutocracy: government of the Rich, by the Rich, for the Rich.

For example, yesterday Speaker Johnson had a Bill to avoid a gov't shutdown; then Elon Musk says hell no, shut it down, burn it down, gov't is a waste of money; so Speaker Johnson pulls the Bill. The Rich have spoken.

Like I said, it's beginning to look a lot like ... Plutocracy.

BUT, your clearly thought-out post actually revives my Hope. Especially how the "Republican" party continues to suffer from paranoid schizophrenia within its own ranks. Not to mention the razor-thin margins. (And I think Trump is stealing even more House Republicans than you mentioned.) So Johnson and his Republican House really can't do much. Which could put the brakes on Trump's insane vision for America.

So thank you Jerry,

you've provided a wake-up call. While the American Plutocracy seems to be flourishing, you've pointed out the weak link: this weak and dysfunctional Republican House could be Trump's Achilles Heel.

Thanks for that renewal of Hope and Faith.

I believe that the more brazen First Lady Musk becomes, it will only help flame the dumpster fire, illuminating the rhetoric.
